PAN Card Verification


The PAN Card verification is a service offered by Government of India Income Tax department. It is to be used on a personal basis by the card holder to verify their PAN number and other account data.

There is a minimum amount of information required by the Indian Government’s PAN Card verification facility to enable you access to your database records. First name, middle name and surname spelled in the same fashion as furnished on your original application and date of birth / incorporation (corporate accounts) are all is required. As well there is a human test code to prevent computers from automatically accessing the database.

PAN Card status check

The simple input form is available on Income tax India government website. Your PAN number can be obtained by use of this form. Your PAN number is required for you to submit income tax to the Government of India and is a 10 digit alpha-numeric number. Your PAN provides a common link for all transactions associated with you in regard to income tax India. Some transactions would include tax credits and income tax returns.

The PAN is a unique 10 digit alphanumeric number which follows a specific format. It starts with 5 letters followed by 4 numbers followed by an ending letter.

The first 3 spaces are letters series running from AAA to ZZZ. Each letter is independent of the next and is used as an alphabetic check.

The fourth letter can be one of the following:
A — Association of Persons (AOP)
B — Body of Individuals (BOI)
C — Company
F — Firm
G — Govt
H — HUF(Hindu Undivided Family)
J — Artificial Juridical Person
L — Local Authority
P — Person
T — AOP (Trust)

The fifth letter of a personal PAN is the first letter of the surname.

The 6th to 9th spaces are numbers which are sequential numbers running from 0001 to 9999.

The last space is a letter used for an alphabetic check.

PAN Card Verification
