The first and easiest is to do a disk defragment with your Disk Defragmenter. You start by going to your Windows Start menu. The go to Accessories, followed by System Tools. Once there you click on the Disk Defragmenter. A screen will open you then click on defragment. This will put all your files together and speed up your computer once it is finished. This will usually take about 5 to 10 minutes.
The Second most effective way is to do a disk cleanup. To do this you go to Windows Start Menu. Then click on Accessories, followed by System. Then you click on Disk Cleanup. This will allow you to delete all your temporary files and other files that are not needed. This will also increase your speed and will fixes some errors that have been made on your computer. It will take about 10 to 20 minutes maybe less.
The last one is a factory restart, which will put your computer back to factory defaults. This can take up to as much as 1 hour or more. There are 2 ways to do this, one is if you have the disk that comes with your computer, it will be restored to factory default with it. The other is to do it from you bios. You can only do that if you have a partition on your hard drive that has a recovery in it. To do this you must first restart you computer and then hit either F2,F10,or F12. It maybe anyone of those. Once there look for your hard drive, then find where it will ask you to do certain things to do that will restore factory settings. It may be different for each computer.
