How often have we heard ourselves think…’I really need to relax.’ We think about it much more than we say it or do it, right? The technologies of the 21st century have made our life more convenient. However, we still find ourselves looking for ways to get away from the city life, so that we can relax and enjoy the beauty of nature.

There are many relaxation techniques that you can do to help clear your mind and increase your wellbeing. The aim of relaxation techniques is to bring back harmony between the over-strained mind and the over-worked body.

We all know that oxygen is important for our health. However, the way we breathe today is preventing a good amount of oxygen from entering our body. The lack of oxygen in the atmosphere due to air pollution and the destruction of plant life is not helping either.

Imagination is a powerful tool to use for improving your wellbeing. Did you know that some of the most successful people in the world use imagination techniques to improve their skills or health? One of them is Tiger Woods. He has been known to use imagination techniques to improve his golf skills. To use the power of imagination to help you relax, find a quiet and comfortable place and then close your eyes and take a few deep breaths. Imagine yourself in a lovely warm place that you always want to visit. Try to feel the environment of this place and let its energy wash away your stress. When you are done, open your eyes and enjoy this relaxing feeling while it last.

3. Energy Healing Exercises

Three popular energy healing exercises that are great for relaxing your mind and increasing your wellbeing are Tai Chi, Qigong and Yoga. These exercises are designed to bring balance and harmony back into your body. They are great for releasing stress and increasing your wellbeing, because they involve proper breathing, subtle forms of mediation and slow movements that are great for improving energy flow.

4. Autogenic Training

This relaxation technique involves the amalgamation of mind and body, where the mind is used to give commands to the body and the body responds to those commands, thereby creating an overall technique which brings down stress levels. The technique has a set of six exercises that use the combination of verbal and visual to help bring down blood pressure, slow heart rate, and to slowly bring your body and mind to a state of complete relaxation.

5. Biofeedback Devices

Biofeedback devices are great for measuring certain activities in your body that you are not aware of. A biofeedback device usually store information into charts or other forms of graphs that are easy to understand. This device can help you monitor your body’s reaction to stress and emotions and therefore help you find ways to deal with them. It can also help you sleep and relax better and thus increase your wellbeing.
