7 of the Most Influential Photos of All Time

Since the photography was invented, tons of photos were taken. As a girl who is recently keen on this type of art, I made a little research of the most influential photos of all time and was amazed by the results.

#1. The Afghan Girl

The Afghan Girl is among the most famous pictures taken by National Geographic. Her name is Sharbat Gula and she was one of the students in a refugee camp. Although she looks older, the girls was 12 years old when the photo was taken in 1984. Her identity was discovered in 1992. The photographer is Steve McCurry. Her name is Sharbat Gula. What happened to her? She married her husband, Rahmat Gul between the age of 13 and 16 and returned to her village in Afghanistan in the mid 1990s. She has now three daughters.

#2. The Loch Ness Monster

Stories about the existence of the Lock Ness Monster date from 565. The secret was revealed in 1994, when Christian Spurling admitted he faked the photo and persuaded the local doctor Robert Wilson to say he took it. Actually, Nessie is a wooden monster.

#3. The Mushroom Head

The first photo showing the enormous energy the ‘mushroom head’ contain. The first bomb in Hiroshima killed approximately 80,000 people, but that wasn’t enough for the Japanese to surrender. Nowadays, this photo is a symbol of the war itself.

#4. The Power of One

A Pulitzer Award winner, this photo shows a lone Jewish woman who is trying to stop Israeli Security forces while they are removing illegal settlers in the West Bank.

#5. Einstein

He is probably one of the most influential figures of 20th century, his theory of Relativity changed the word. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t like to stuck his tongue out.

A picture showing one of the most famous and loved singers just a few moments before his death.

#7. Hope

The little figure standing in front of the tanks is actually a student who is trying to stop them. The tank driver didn’t kill the him, although the square was filled with blood shortly after that. However, this gave a hope to Chinese People. Unfortunately, they still live under a communist regime.
