Yes that fateful day will live forever etched in our memories. Who can forget the nightmare that ensued? The horror, panic and confusion a Jihad made it’ s presence felt throughout the world-a foretaste of things to come. Striking at the heart of democracy-show no mercy! It cut like a knife with such great a loss of innocent life. It was a blatant Act of Terror on the part of Fanatics. It took an Act of Faith on the part of the US army and NATO not to go to defcon 5 and launch their nulclear arsenal at the extremist world. Thank God sanity prevailed. Or else all hell would have broke loose. in a way it has. Thank God it escalated the war on terror and shifted the focus from indicriminate bombing of Iraq onto world terrorism. Everybody alive wanted to go to Afghanistan to find Bin Laden and Al Queda.
Well Bin Laden is dead. God rest his soul. Long live freedom and the pursuit of happiness! Tyranny is dead. Now 10 years down the line and we still have a fragile but unbrokered peace. Or is it a mexican standoff? Loss of life is very unfortunate. People are still grief-stricken and inconsolable. This unfortunate act of terror should never have happened. Extremism of every sort should be carefully monitored and reported and investigated. And then steps be taken to eradicate. eliminate all threats! Events of 9/11 only reinforce my personal belief that fanatics/madmen want to take over by whatever means necessary.
On this special occaion which marks the anniverary of those that died-let’s strive to keep the world free of a Reign of Terror. Observe a moment of silence for the deceaed(all of them-even the perpetrators who went to their death believing in paradise). May their deaths not be in vain. It’s easy for a wave of fanaticism to sweep the world right now when we most vulnerable. Keep the faith and don’t loose heart.
Give me death or give me liberty!
