Amazing Paver Designs and Options

You have a vast array of options when it comes to decorating the outside area of your property, but a paver patio is one of the best choices. If you want low maintenance and limitless design choices, a paver patio is hard to beat. While it may cost a little more up front, the savings you’ll receive over having to stain and seal the surface annually will quickly pay for itself. Below, we offer an overview of the various paver designs and options that are at your disposal.

Brick

This material is thinner than builder bricks used on home exteriors and is made to withstand heavy foot traffic. The bricks you will use are smaller than other paver options, so it may take a bit longer to install, but the end result will be well worth it. Brick pavers have tons of character, and it is possible to develop intricate patterns that look either old or new. A popular brick design is the rectangular colonial style, though people with Victorian-style houses should replicate the curves of the arched doors and windows by designing curved edges.

Concrete

Concrete pavers can be finished off in a variety of ways; they can be brushed, stamped, scored, or acid washed. This form of paver is exceedingly popular because of its low cost and long lifespan. If you live in a colder climate, you need to add in the extra cost of specialized base preparation, coupled with concrete additive. If you are looking for a design that simulates brick, flagstone, or cobblestone, choose stamped concrete. It is also worth considering interlocking concrete pavers, as they have slots and tabs that make installation as easy as a simple jigsaw puzzle.

Rubber

These pavers are made from recycled tires and are designed to apply on any surface. As rubber pavers are exceptionally light, they can be used on pool decks. One of the great things about rubber pavers is that they resemble concrete. You can also purchase pavers with finishes that look like brick or terra cotta. Rubber pavers are probably the easiest of all pavers to install and are great for covering up worn patio surfaces. As these pavers are new on the market, the number of design ideas is limited, but you can experiment and see what works best on your patio surface.

Flagstone

This is an easy material to work with, as it is flat and thin. It is natural stone, so it will be available in colors characteristic of its region; the color palette includes blue, brown, gold, white, red, and pink. Uncut flagstone pavers will ensure your patio has a look that simply cannot be replicated by any of your neighbors. It will be cheaper if the rock comes from a local quarry, though you should hire a professional contractor to install it.

Comes Down to Personal Choice

Concrete pavers can beautify your outdoor space and add value to your property. There are numerous options when it comes to materials and design; you are only limited by your imagination.
