Are There Different Types of Banners Materials?

If you’re new to the banner business, then figuring out which of the vinyl banners materials is best for you can be tough. Luckily, there are several different types of vinyl banner materials that you can choose from.

Poly Banners

Poly is an alright option. It’s very glossy and great for on-screen advertising, like commercials or perhaps signs for a movie showcasing banner signs. However, it’s not really all that great outside. In fact, compared to banners that can last for years and years, you only get a month’s use out of this particular type of banner sign. This isn’t all that great, especially if you’re looking for something that will last quite a bit longer outside. However, inside, it’s not all that bad. You have to also keep in mind that these types of banners are best in smaller versions, instead of larger ones. So, if size is your thing, poly banner signs probably aren’t.

Mesh Banners

Mesh banners are great outside, especially if you’re trying to keep the wind from warping and ruining your banner signs. Unfortunately, they can look a bit bizarre inside, since they’re see-through. Not good if you plan on placing your banner signs up next to the wall…or, even if you don’t. Not to mention that mesh is generally quite easy to tear and stretch…again, a pretty big problem, especially if you have little kids that like to grab whatever they can and hang on.

Vinyl Banners

Your best option for all around vinyl banners (for, most banners are made out of some soft of vinyl), are good old banner signs made out of 13 ounce vinyl banner material. To explain further—13 ounce vinyl banner material is used in almost EVERY injury. Your pipes are probably made out of 13 ounce vinyl banner material. Your child’s playgrounds are made out of it. This material is long lasting, durable, and, quite frankly, the best out of the above.

For one, it’s a lot more long-lasting than poly banner signs. Let’s face it—those signs are, to be honest, pretty much useless if you plan on doing long-term advertising. If you have a month-long festival or something like that, then go for poly. For a business, stick to something longer-lasting, such as the vinyl banners made with 13 ounce vinyl banner material.

These are just a few of the different types of vinyl banners materials. What are your favorite vinyl banners?
