  • You must have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 30 to 40 and also have a health condition related to obesity, such as high blood pressure (hypertension), type 2 diabetes or sleep apnea. No obesity related conditions must exist for patients with a BMI of 40 or higher.
  • You are in general good health
  • You don’t have a problem with alcohol.

You need to be ready for a major overhaul of your lifestyle choices and be prepared and committed to take on challenges that will help transform your health. It starts with a pre-operative nutritional program, which is includes losing some weight to avoid complications during the surgery.
