Best Cleaning Products – Non-Toxic, Biodegradable, Safe

Next time you pick up one of those brand name cleaning products, stop and read the warnings on the label. Shocking, isn’t it?

If that product is petroleum based, which most of them are, you are cleaning your kitchen and bathroom counters and appliances with a toxic mix of chemicals. If you are like most families, the kids-and even the adults-are probably placing food right on the counter top that you just cleaned with these chemicals. Read the warnings again and tell me if that is a good idea!

What to Use Instead

When searching for the best cleaning products, turn to eco-friendly, human-friendly, non-toxic cleaning products. Always read the labels on all your cleaning products for hidden problems.

You can use vinegar and citrus juice to cut the grease. You can also use a mix of baking soda and vinegar to
remove stains. Findinghomemade recipes is pretty easy. You should test everything for your own use—some folks absolutely recoil from a vinegar smell. I like it, it reminds me of egg dyeing at Easter time.

Recommended Over the Counter Cleaner

The folks at America’s Test Kitchen recently made a cleaning product recommendation that I can get behind. I have used this group of products and find them to be more than adequate in the cleaning of bathrooms and kitchens.

The Method brand is the recommended brand. It works great all over the house and there are plenty of different fragrances to select from. There are even unscented products for those with asthma or allergies.

Here are some features of this best cleaning product:

  • designed for safe, effective use on all types of surfaces
  • derived from natural substances
  • non-toxic and biodegradable formula (safe for the environment)
  • container is made of 100 percent recycled plastics and is itself recyclable
  • No animal testing is ever used in these best cleaning products
