Best Point and Shoot Camera under 150

The best point and shoot camera under 150 dollars can easily be found on the Internet if you know where to look. Nowadays, companies are creating tons of quality cameras for very cheap prices. Cameras are not only smaller, but carry higher megapixels so that color and picture quality is better than before. Point and shoot cameras are perfect for those who want to capture images of family, friends or their travels. They are very simple to use and often produce beautiful pictures with a simple touch of a button. In addition to a lot of great point and shoot cameras, there are also poor quality cameras that you should not buy no matter what they cost. Below, I have outlined two of the best point and shoot cameras under $150 for 2012.

Best New, Used & Refurbished Point and Shoot Digital Cameras under $150 for Sale – 2012

Panasonic DMC-FH25A

New: $180

On Sale: $150

Used: $100 – $115

Refurbished: $115 – $150

The Panasonic DMC-FH25 is the best point and shoot you can buy for under 150 dollars. Nowhere else will you find a finer quality camera with the same value. This camera comes with an 8x wide angle zoom and a whopping 2.7 image stabilized zoom. In addition, the Panasonic DMC-FH25 comes armed with 16.1 megapixels. If you are unfamiliar with megapixels, just know that if your camera has a lot of megapixels, the photograph will be of sharper quality if they were to be blown up to a larger size. This camera has one of the highest megapixels I’ve seen on any point and shoot cameras and it even rivals certain low end DSLRs. Whether you are taking close up pictures or panoramic shots of distant landscapes, the Panasonic DMC-FH25 is very easy to use and the photographs require almost no touch up. Keep in mind that even though this camera is very small and powerful, it cannot replace a DSLR. If you want to become a serious photographer who wants to take pictures that may end up in a magazine or art gallery, this camera may not be for you. However, if you want the digital camera for putting up pictures on Facebook or showing them to your family and friends, I wholeheartedly recommend this camera, which you can purchase for under $150.

Canon PowerShot ELPH 100 HS

Canon PowerShot ELPH 100 HS

New: $179

On Sale: $129

Used: $99 – $120

The Canon PowerShot ELPH 100 HS is another great point and shoot digital camera that you can purchase for under 150 dollars. It comes in five different colors (blue, orange, grey, silver and pink) and takes pictures with 12.1 megapixels. One of the great features about this tiny camera is that it can take HD video, which can come in handy if you are in to making short movies. In addition to the 4x zoom, the Canon PowerShot ELPH also takes great night time pictures which is unusual for point and shoot cameras. It has a fast auto focus action and a built in flash, which work to produce quality nighttime pictures.

Remember that when selecting a point and shoot digital camera, you want to figure out what you will most likely use the camera for. The two digital cameras I outlined above are both excellent for taking pictures for people and places. If you plan to take more artistic photographs or pictures for magazines, I strongly urge you to check out DSLR cameras because they produce sharper images with colors that ‘pop’ out. However, point and shoot cameras are perfect for those who want to take simple pictures with a push of a button. You will not find better point and shoot cameras under 150 dollars.
