MJ Stevens Pub ‘n’ Restaurant is the perfect venue for a small celebration of accomplishment or a romantic date night for two. This restaurant is a delicious alternative to chain restaurants and has the cozy feel of a classic supper club. Founded by a family of restauranteurs, MJ Stevens is sure to remain local staple for years to come

Prime Rib
Every Thursday night, MJ Stevens takes $5 off any Prime Rib cut. Dutchess, Duke, Queen or King cut, the Prime Rib is cooked to your preference and served with a side of potato or roasted vegetables. The prime rib is excellent– smooth, tender and melt-in-your-mouth good. The au jus is savory, but not overly salty and only adds to the platter. Before your entree, you are served warm, fresh bread and your choice of soup or salad. They have a number of specialty dressings including Honey Dijon and Bleu Cheese. If your in the mood for soup, tonight’s was Cream of Potato with Chicken, you also get cracker variety basket.
Price
MJ Stevens is easily one of the best value supperclub restaurants around. Three of us dined tonight, we each had Prime Rib (two dutchess cuts and one queen) and a drink– our bill was $66. Less the drinks, our bill would have been around $50. The prime rib is the most expensive thing on the menu, and they also have entrees of chicken, fish and beef as well as burgers and sandwiches.
Service
The service was very good and very efficient. The three of us were in and out in little more than an hour. This was by choice, we didn’t feel rushed at all– there was time between courses and a friendly nod to attentiveness during each course. There were other groups there when we got there who were still enjoying a leisurely meal when we left. MJ Steven’s takes reservations, though they are not required. If you need to wait a few minutes for a table, there is a nice bar and tables off the bar where you can enjoy a beverage or enjoy the company.
Location
Located off of USH 41 in Hartford, MJ Stevens is a quick hop on the freeway or a few country roads away. From my location in Menomonee Falls, the drive is about 20 minutes.
Conclusion
MJ Stevens has been a family standby for our family for many years. We’ve celebrated many accomplishments and entertained visitors from out of town many a time here. The food is good, the service is swell and the atmosphere is wonderful.
