Best Ukulele Under 100

The best ukulele under 100 dollars can easily be found on the Internet if you know where to look. In the past few years there have been a lot of hit songs that have incorporated the ukulele such as Jason Mraz’s “I’m Yours” and Train’s “Hey, Soul Sister.” In addition, the ukulele is much lighter and easier to play compared to a traditional acoustic guitar. The fact that it is very portable and only has four strings to strum makes it a popular instrument among young and old people. If you have played the ukulele for a while and are looking for something with more of a quality build, I suggest buying a ukulele that is around 200 to 500 dollars. You’ll see that more expensive ukuleles have a much more solid build and a more distinct sound. However, if you’re a beginner it is better to find something cheap so that you can first get used to the feel of the instrument. Below, I have listed the three best ukuleles under $100.

Kala KA-S Mahogany Soprano Ukulele

Price: $65

The Kala KA-S Mahogany Soprano Ukulele is perfect for beginners. The biggest problem with buying a cheap ukulele is that often times they don’t tune to play the proper notes. This can be particularly frustrating if you are a beginner trying to learn how to play. The Kala is very easy to tune and plays in tune for a long time. This is the perfect beginner ukulele that is under 100 dollars.

Lanikai LU-11 Soprano Ukulele

Price: $47.92

Best Ukulele Under 100

The Lanikai LU-11 Soprano Ukulele is another cheap ukulele that I would like to recommend. Despite its low cost, the Lanikai is of high quality, which not only produces beautiful sounds, but looks great as well. It does need a tuning every now and then, but all ukuleles under 100 dollars usually need proper tuning before playing. The Lanikai also comes with a small booklet that gives a basic chords chart with tuning instructions.

Makala MK-S Soprano Ukulele

Price: $42

Best Ukulele Under 100

The Makala MK-S Soprano Ukulele is another great ukulele that won’t break the bank. It has 12 brass frets and has an Agathis wood body and a mahogany neck. This cheap ukulele delivers 100% and is perfect for any beginner. Having owned this ukulele myself, I can confidently say that it has lasted me more than four years of constant playing. Not only does the Makala have a sturdy build, but it is able to play solid notes as well.

You cannot go wrong from picking a ukulele from the three mentioned above. Each one is catered towards mostly beginners as well as intermediate players. The three ukuleles mentioned above are under 100 dollars and two of them are under 50 dollars.
