CNA Programs in NY

I will not be going through all the CNA programs in NY since it is a highly populated state and has many CNA courses. I will be giving you a couple of great options to choose from and hopefully you’ll be near enough to one.

Before looking at the list keep in mind that all of these are state approved so you will be eligible to take the state exam when you complete the training. Also keep in mind that each one offers a different schedule so choose one that works well with your schedule. The last thing is that the fees will all be different and can seem like a good deal but may not be if they don’t include books, uniform, stethoscope and other required materials. So with that in mind here are some great CNA schools in NY.

Rochester Educational Opportunity Center

This is a great college located in Rochester on Chestnut Street. They offer CNA training to those who have a high school diploma or GED. The hours are 8am-1pm in the summer session and the fall and spring sessions are 8am-2:30pm. The class is tuition free, but you will still need some money to pay for books, supplies and even scrubs.

Finger Lakes Community College

This CNA program is located in Canandaigua on Marvin Sands Dr. The CNA course they offer is fantastic. You need to be 16 or older with a diploma or GED and you will need to be in good physical health. They also offer a combination course where you train to be a CNA and a HHA. The areas of study and the responsibilities of each overlap and having both certificates will greatly improve your value to a future employer.

Corning Community College

This is a great community college is Corning NY that offers a wonderful CNA training course. The class doesn’t offer credit and runs for 3 weeks. The classes are from 8am-4pm and the fee includes the book and the state exam when you are done. In fact, they usually schedule the exam at the location of the class for a Saturday a week after you finish class. This is really nice since you can be done with the training and the state exam in 4 weeks and then begin looking for your future job as a CNA.
