Colgate Sensitive Pro-Relief Toothpaste vs. Crest Sensitivity

Comparing Colgate Sensitive Pro-Relief Toothpaste to Crest Sensitivity — a Product Review

I suffer from moderate tooth sensitivity and was almost finished with a tube of Crest Sensitivity when I received a sample of Colgate Sensitive Pro-Relief. If I had more time, I would have stopped using a sensitivity toothpaste before trying the Colgate, but instead I transitioned straight from the Crest to the Colgate.

Comparing the Crest Sensitivity Clean Mint Flavor to the Colgate Sensitive Pro-Relief, I preferred the Colgate Fresh Mint flavor. I was not able to tell how quickly the Colgate toothpaste would have worked if I had not already been on a sensitivity product, but the Colgate toothpaste kept my sensitive teeth pain free except when I drank very cold beverages or ate ice cream, a problem I also experience occasionally with the Crest Sensitivity.

Both products list Potassium Nitrate 5% as their main Antisensitivity ingredient, and Sodium Fluoride as the Anticavity ingredient, at .24% in the Colgate and .243% in the Crest. Both products did a good job of cleaning my teeth.

On a scale of 1 – 10, with 10 being the highest, I would rate the Colgate a 10 and the Crest a 9 on flavor and would rate the Colgate and the Crest with a 9 each for controlling pain.
