Dyson DC25 Review

Design & Practical Features

The DC25 (priced at just under $400) is a standard full sized upright vacuum cleaner that is designed to be ‘easier to use’ then most vacuums, hence is a fair bit lighter than most at 7.4 kg, more compact (107.8 by 31 by 39.2 cm) & is of course also installed with Dyson ball technology for easy mobility (perfect for someone who is cleaning who struggles with lugging round a big heavy, fix wheeled vacuum).

With regards to practical specifications it offers a cord length of 7.5 m and telescope reach of 12.3 m as well as a transparent bin capacity of 1.38 liters. So perhaps not quite suited for a large house, but very decent for a large apartment and well suite a small house.

Cleaning Performance & Technology

It is integrated with Dyson’s basic root cyclone technology so doesn’t suffer with loss of suction and is packed with a fairly substantial 220 Air watts, so despite its ‘slightly more compact’ size — the DC25 does offer a very decent cleaning performance, providing you with an effective pick up of pet hair, debris & dust rate across all floor types. Moreover, it is installed with HEPA filters to prevent any allergens and dust particles from being expelled into the air whilst your vacuuming, so you are left behind with a nice, clean & healthy air supply.

Accessories & Attachments

There are two versions of the DC25, the multi floor where you are provided with a combination tool & stair tool and the DC25 Animal that also comes with a specialized pet hair tool, specifically manufactured for effective pet hair pick up (great if your household suffers with being covered in pet hair).

What’s the Difference Between the DC25 and DC65?

So there a few significant differences between the DC25 and DC65. Although the DC25 is slightly smaller & weighs less than the DC65, it won’t be ‘that’ much more mobile and easier to use, given the intricate ergonomic design the DC65 has undergone as well as revamped Dyson ball. Moreover, the practical specifications of the DC65 are a fair bit of an improvement on the DC25 both in terms of reach and bin capacity.

However, the major difference comes in the cleaning performance — granted the DC25 is a decent upright vacuum, but the DC65 is simply in a different league altogether in this regard.

Note: as with all Dyson vacuum cleaners, when bought new, they are provided with the industry leading 5 year warranty coverage program.
