Many people worship the sun. They desire to have tanned skin and spend hours out in the sun during the warmer months. While tanning is fun and there are many great outdoor activities the sun can cause a lot of damage to the skin. The sun removes hydration, causes dark spots, causes premature wrinkling, and can put a person at an increase risk for developing skin cancer. There are some effective solutions that a person can use to reduce the damage to their skin that was caused by the sun.
Exfoliate the Skin
When the skin is exfoliated all of the dead cells are removed. Once the dead cells are removed the skin will appear to be brighter and healthier. The sun causes the cells to die because it removes all the moisture from them and reduces skin elasticity. Gently exfoliating is one of the best ways to brighten the skin. A person can make their own mask or buy a mask in the store. The mask is applied to the skin and rubbed it. Some may have to stay on the skin for a specific amount of time. After this time the masks is gently scrubbed off. The scrubbings is needed to make sure the dead cells are removed. If a person scrubs too hard they may damage the skin. Exfoliation can be done two to three times a week to keep the face looking fresh.
Get Rid of Brown Spots
Brown spots that are caused by the sun are unattractive. There is a way to get rid of these brown patches on the skin. There are some skin bleaching products that can be used to even out the skin tone and reduce the appearance of these spots. These bleaches will help reduce the production of melanin which is responsible for the dark pigments and the brown color on the skin. The more UV rays from the sun that the skin has to fight off the more melanin is produced. This product can be used on the dark area two to three times a day until the skin tone is even.
These products can help the skin recover from damage from the sun. Antioxidants include topical creams as well as increasing the intake of certain vitamins including Vitamin C. The antioxidants can also be used to help decrease the risk of developing skin cancer. Antioxidants will help protect the collagen in the skin so it can retain elasticity which will prevent wrinkles. It will also help protect the skin from other free radicals that can also cause wrinkles and put a person at an increased risk for developing cancer. In addition to applying creams there are many foods that are rich I antioxidants including fruits and vegetables. This will help the damage that was already done to the skin and help prevent further damage from happening.
Prevent Additional Damage
If a person is already seeing damage from the sun there are steps they can take to prevent the skin from becoming further damages. Every time a person goes outside even if they are only going out for a couple of minute they need to apply sunscreen. This will help protect the body from the UV rays. The sunscreen should have an SPF for at least 15 in order for it to be effective. A person should apply it 30 minutes before heading outside and it should be reapplied every two hours or more often if a person is going to be in water. Every area of the body should be coated with sunscreen. To help protect the face a hat with a large brim should be warm to keep the rays of the sun from directly hitting the face.
While people enjoy fun in the sun the sun can cause a great deal of damage to the delicate skin. A person can exfoliate and increase their diet to include more vitamins to help the skin recover from damage that has already been done. A person should also protect the skin from additional exposure to the sun. There are effective solutions that a person can use to reverse the damage that has been done and to prevent the sun from doing any further damage to the skin.
