Knowing Razor Bumps
Razor bumps are small bumps that form on the skin usually after shaving. It is also known as pseudofolliculitis barbae. The bumps appear because the hair that is supposed to grow, usually curls back and simply just grow into the skin. If these are not removed, they can cause pimple formation. Worse, there can even be irritation and infection which can lead to scarring later on. Because of these consequences, it is important that you get rid of them as early as possible. Here are some of the ways through which you could be able to get rid of razor bumps.

Clean The Affected Area
It is important that you regularly clean the affected area with an antibacterial soap or cleanser so that you could be able to prevent infection. Most people may not be aware but shaving can actually lead to the opening of your pores making it more prone to accumulation of bacteria. Once bacteria get into the pores, that’s the time that you will not only develop razor bumps but also infection. Clean the affected area properly and make sure that you keep it free from sweat and other dirt.

Change Your Razor Regularly
You should change the razor that you use after using it for two times. You may not be aware but bacteria can eventually accumulate in the blades that are used for several times. Also, you should avoid using dull blades because it can forcibly pull your hair causing unwanted irritation which can eventually form into razor bumps. Make sure that you keep adequate stocks of razors so that you won’t have to use one repeatedly.

Use Hot Compress
Hot compress can also help you get rid of your razor bumps. First of all, you just need to prepare a small towel which you need to soak in warm water. After that, you can place the towel over the affected area where your razor bumps are. Make sure that you leave the towel in the area for about ten minutes to ensure maximum effect. Applying hot compress can effectively reduce the bump formation on your skin and it can also help in removing the bacteria thus being able to prevent infection.

These are just some of the most effective ways through which you could be able to eliminate all those razor bumps. It’s never too late to bring back your smooth skin after shaving.
