Get Rid of Skin Stretch Marks

Skin stretch marks are the ugly lines you see in your skin that appears when the skin is overly stretched. They are like spidery threads and scars that appear in your abdomen, thighs, breasts, arms, or even buttocks.

Boys and girls in puberty stage usually develops minimal amount of stretch marks especially when they rapidly grow up. Stretch marks are most common in pregnant women during and after their pregnancy. And unlike other skin problems, stretch marks do not form in the outer layer or surface area of the skin.

They actually appear underneath the skin, in the layer called dermis. That is why it is really difficult to make them fade away. Although the following tips cannot totally remove the skin stretch marks you see in your body, you can still try them to at least minimize the appearance.

Microdermabrasion. Through this process the production of collagen in the skin goes back to normal. This improves the elasticity of the skin and helps contract the stretch marks into finer and thinner lines.

Use of topical creams

Deep chemical peeling

Laser resurfacing or cosmetic laser treatment

Surgical Removal

Use of especially formulated lotions

To prevent skin stretch marks from appearing in your skin you must:

Maintain a healthy diet by eating nutritious food

Drink lots of water to help your skin stay hydrated.

Eat foods like nuts, carrots, milk, egg, fish, lean meat and other foods that are known to contain essential nutrients to keep the skin healthy.

Control rapid and sudden gain weight through proper diet and exercise. Gaining of weight is believed to be one of the causes of skin stretch marks appearance.

Moisturize and nourish your skin with the use of lotions rich in cocoa butter and creams.

Don’t feel too bad about yourself for having stretchmarks, pretty much every one has them in one for or another. Especially women who have gone through pregnancy!
