If you are trying to lose weight fast and have more than a few pounds to lose, you are probably trying to figure out how fast you can lose weight using various diet and exercise techniques. Most likely, you want to lost weight as fast as possible, at least to start. That is only natural.

The problem is this. When you lose weight too fast you may fail to make the changes that you really need to make to be successful in the long term, which is much more difficult than losing weight in the short term.

Again, the same rules apply. A jump start may very well work to lose the weight, but what was done to achieve it? For some, a drastic diet that is not sustainable was used to lose 10 pounds fast. It is much better not to deprive yourself of foods in your diet so that you have a higher chance of sticking to your diet.

For others, a drastic exercise routine leads to the loss of 10 pounds fast. This might mean hitting the gym morning and night at the beginning of a new exercise program. Again, for most people this lifestyle is simply not sustainable and, once reality strikes, these workouts will be reduced and the weight will creep back on. It is much better to exercise at a level that you can stick with and do something fun that you enjoy when you work out. That way, you are more likely to stick with it.
