Many people have problems with dry skin. When the skin is dry, it does not only look wrinkled and ugly but it is also a very embarrassing condition for many people. The worst thing is, those who are affected with it loses their self-confidence.
There are many ways on how we can solve this problem. It is necessary to find out which remedy works best for our skin. I, for one, have been carrying this problem since I was little. My skin would become extremely dry at times and I would always need to give it extra care to make myself feel comfortable inside and out. I even bought this home remedy book guide for me to know what are the best ways to remedy this problem. I tried almost all of the beauty tips available for dry skin. Some did work while others did not. Finally, I was able to discover the solutions that were effective.
One of these solutions is by mixing yoghurt and lemon and applying it directly to the skin. This treatment makes my skin feel so refreshingly clean, smooth and moisturized all day long. Below are the different remedies to help make our skin look moisturized, healthy and younger looking all day.
Yoghurt and Lemon
Here is the step-by-step process on how to make a yoghurt-lemon moisturizer. After a few days, you will notice that your skin would become healthier and well-moisturized.
Mix thoroughly 5 tablespoons of yoghurt and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice until the mixture would develop a sticky consistency. Apply the mixture to the dry parts of your body. Usually, I apply it to my whole body, even to my face as I love the refreshing and moisturized feeling I get after. Leave it on for 15 minutes. Rinse with water. Your skin will become smooth and feel healthy. You won’t need to apply lotion anymore for a day or two. If you want to maintain that well moisturized skin, do this regularly to up to three times a week.
Sunscreen is very important for your skin. The sun’s rays are very damaging to it and makes it dry, wrinkled and ugly looking. It strips away moisture and youthful glow. The best way to remedy this is to avoid sun exposure. However, if ever being under the sun cannot be avoided, it is best to apply sunscreen to your skin with Sun Protection Factor (SPF) of at least 15. You can use Neutrogena Moisture Oil-Free SPF 15. This formula blocks UVA and UVB rays from the sun. It is dermatologist recommended and is non-comedogenic, hypoallergenic and alcohol-free. It is also fragrance-free which is good for those who are allergic to some strong fragrances.
Alpha Hydroxy Acids
Another solution is to use a lotion with alpha hydroxy acids. It does not only gently reduces the appearance of unsightly acne scars on your face but also removes dead skin cells and reduces inflammation of acne. It does not only moisturize but also protects the skin from sunburn and skin damage. Prolonged sun exposure’s damage to the skin is usually visible at a person’s later age. So, it is best to use a lotion that protects the skin from both UVB and UVA rays.
Lotion with Petroleum Jelly
Mixing your lotion with petroleum jelly is a very good moisturizer too. It is best to apply lotion with this mixture right after you shower as at this time, the pores are still open.
Many people use Nivea cream to add moisture to the skin. Unlike petroleum jelly, it is less greasy. I have used this cream before and it really did wonders to my skin. There are times I also use it only to the dry parts of my body. Either way, Nivea has effective skin moisturizing effects.
Millions of people are experiencing dry skin all over the world and most of them continue to suffer because they don’t know the best remedy to the problem. As a dry skin sufferer myself, I can say that having this kind of problem is never easy. There are times that my skin would crack and it would be too painful. I hope the above remedies would help a lot of people solve their dry skin problem. I have tried these solutions myself and I have proven them to be effective.
