How to overcome depression ?

How to overcome depression ?Why can’t I just be happy?, When will I be able to stop faking smiles?, I hate myself, What’s the point in trying anymore?

Any of these dreary statements ring a bell? Thought they might. Depression is a dark, dark thing, even the very things that are supposed to help, are things you have no desire or energy to do. You start to feel miserable, hopeless, desperate, even a little bit feeble. However, there are things you can do to help take the next step away from depression.

Negative thoughts can begin to fester within your mind and inturn lead to a serious depression, this is why it’s important to try and burst out of that slump as soon as possible, but it’s never too late. If you think you have a serious medical health problem, don’t be reluctant to see a medical professional as soon as possible.

I think, the best advice for depression would be to see a therapist, as they have higher success rates than most other treatment for depression….. If you are interested in seeing one, here’s a link that I think you will find quite beneficial… http://www.therapeia.co.uk/

There are more than a few tips I can give you to help you overcome this bleak despair, but to be perfectly honest, they won’t be any good unless you take action with them.

To start with, reach out to someone, just by simply opening up to someone or even just socializing, can help improve your mood, as long as the people you are socializing with are in a good state themselves. Another way is to just be grateful, emotional distress is the gap between ‘what is’ and ‘what we want it to be’, when we focus on the things we have allready got and learn to be grateful for it, we can be at peace with whatever situation we end up in. Make sure that you get enough sleep as research shows that a lack of sleep can not only cause some of the same symptoms of depression, but it can actually be the cause of depression itself. Live a healthy lifestyle, when you are making your body happy, your body will return the favour.

Depression is truly an awful thing, it can lead to all sorts of problems such as eating disorders, self harm, even suicide… to help beat it, if you can, please help support these charities….
