How to Sign Up for the Affordable Care Act or Obamacare, SeekytSo, how do you sign up for the Affordable Care Act (ACA) or Obamacare, as it’s also known? The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is President Obamas plan that requires all Americans that don’t have medical health insurance to get healthcare coverage. This insurance would give them access to affordable healthcare that would even cover pre-existing conditions. After years of political wrangling, President Obama was able to get the ACA passed into law. It had to withstand legal challenges that went up to the Supreme Court, which approved the plan. Many Americans are having trouble or don’t know how to sign up for the Affordable Care Act. There are several reasons why people are having trouble with the plan but I want to focus on how to get past the problems and tell you how you can get signed up for a medical healthcare plan.

One way to sign up for the Affordable Care Act is to go to the website. is a marketplace where you can get information on insurance plans for individuals, families, and businesses and set up a personal account to sign up for an insurance plan. Unfortunately, the website has had problems since the open enrollment period, October 1, 2013 – March 31, 2014 began. Apparently the website couldn’t handle the millions of people trying to log on and had to be fixed to accommodate the flood of users. That said, it’s still a good way to sign up for Obamacare. The trick is to log on either early in the morning or late at night. Not as many people are trying to use during these off-peak hours. That gives you a chance to get on the site, choose a plan and get signed up when the site is running smoothly. Though the site has had its problems, it’s much better than it was in the beginning.
