In this hectic and fast paced world we live in eventually we all ponder what it would take to slow things down and start enjoying a calmer more relaxed life style. Of course more middle age and older adults will most likely be the ones wondering how to reroute their life down a slower calmer life. It does not matter what age you are, we all coud use some level of calming in our lives. Taking care and getting rid of the stress will help you get to the state of mind you deserve to be at. Stress is a huge cause to a multitude of ailments.
The first thing you need to do is get a pad of paper and pen or pencil. The best way to a calmer life is to write everything down. If you don’t write it down you probably won’t succeed.
Start writing down in point form what your ideal calm life looks like, Leaving a space between each point. Once you have this list complete go over it a again, take your time and make sure you have captured everything and make sure to be realistic with how your calm life should look. Keep this in mind that you really muct be realistic here. This is not a wishlist for material objects or situations that you know will most likely never happen know matter how hard you work at it. On the other hand if you have ideas f how things will look in your calmer life attaining goals that are not that far out of reach then go for it, write them down.
Now that you have that done it is time to get to the meat of things. Go to your first point and read it over again. After reading it what pops into your mind as the obvious way to fix or get to that stage? Write down what came to mind. If for instance your first point is that you want more free time to spend with your family, you need to write down all of the obvious things that keep you from spending time from them. Possibly it is work, maybe freinds, a hobby or two, a second job, maybe it is just the television. Once you have a list of all of the things that keep you from spending time with family you need to have a serious look at each thing and now write down beside it what exactly you can do to either drop that activity from your life or maybe just reschedule it so it doesn’t interfere with quality family time.
Go through every point you wrote down and do the same exercise for every single point. Writing everything down will help you capture everything you need to capture. Keep this list with you or nearby incase you think of something randomly. Use a USB drive and keep your list on there on a Microsoft Word document. Remember that life is not a race, take your time and slowly change the things you need to in your life and before you know it you will wake up one day with a calmer life.
The key to this exercise is to write everything down. You have a much better chance of success if you do. Good luck.
