320 or 380t – Which is Best for You?
The following account will briefly compare two very popular (Braava) hard floor cleaning (sweeper & mopper) robots — 320 Vs 380t — from iRobot, through giving a brief account of each & then going to highlight their differences. This will allow you to see what both robot is capable of offering you as well as which one is best suited to cleaning your home.
Braava 320 Overview
Cleaning Technology & Navigation System
As said above, the 320 is a mopping & sweeping robot that uses microfiber cloths to collect dirt, hair & dust from your hard flooring (incl. vinyl, laminate, wood & tile). It is integrated with the NorthStar navigation system that acts through a signalling mechanism to calculate the most efficient cleaning route to cover the entirety of your floor in just one pass.
Battery Performance & Aspects
From a single charge of a NiMH (1500 mAh) battery the 320 is capable of covering 800 sq. ft. dry mopping (running for approximately 3 hours) and 250 sq. ft. damp mopping (running for roughly 2 hours).
Dimensions: 9.6 x 8.5 x 3.1 inches | Weight: 4 lbs
Features, Specifications & Accessories
It also has Perfect-Edge technology integrated this ensures that the Braava cleans right along your baseboards & furniture — getting to the corners you probably miss. In terms of ‘what’s in the box?’ you get the actual 320 mopping robot, charger, navigation cube (NorthStar), a multi-purpose cleaning pad and three microfiber cloths (two for sweeping & one for mopping).

Braava 380t Overview
Cleaning Technology & Navigation System
The 380t is essentially an upgrade of the 320, so although it pretty much carries out the same of mopping & sweeping your hard flooring it does have some significantly improved features. For instance, the navigation system is the second series NorthStar system that comes with additional cubes so you can basically enable it to have room-to-room cleaning i.e once its finished with one room, it will go on to the next.
Battery Performance & Aspects
Moreover, it has a superior NiMH (2000 mAh) battery that makes the 380 capable of dry mopping up to 1000 sq ft. (running for approximately 4 hours) and damp mopping 350 sq. ft. (with a run time of approximately 2.5 hours). It is also installed with a pro-clean system that acts as a dispensing system to continuously replenish the damp microfiber with fresh cleaning solution.
Dimensions: 9.6 x 8.5 x 3.1 inches | Weight: 4 lbs
Features, Specifications & Accessories
Like the 320 it also comes with the perfect-edge technology, hence it can get right up along the side of baseboards & skirtings (suited to its square shape design). In terms of accessories , compared to the 320 — the 380 comes with a turbo charging cradle, an additional cube & an extra mopping cloth.

The Difference Between the 320 and 380
Both models basically are designed with the same cleaning objective, just the 380 is more capable of achieving it due to the improvements e.g. the more advanced navigation system, improved run time and pro-clean system (in addition to a better battery, turbo charger & spare cloths). Another minor difference is that the 320 is finished in white whereas the 380 comes in black.
Which Robot Mopper Should You Buy the 320 or 380t?
With a price difference of a little under $100 (where the 320 is priced at around $200 & 380 is at $290), I feel the 380t is the model you want to be going for — given the huge ‘extra’ value (better cleaning performance, can last longer, faster charge time etc.) that the 380 provides.
