I remember when I was a huge Backstreet Boys fan and how I hated N*Sync when they first came out because I thought they were posers. I eventually gave in and decided to give the new band a chance and turns out I loved these ‘posers’ much more than I liked Backstreet Boys.
The person who stuck out the most was Justin Timberlake because he was a guy with a young face but a lot of soul. I was impressed by this adorable skinny guy and I enjoyed watching him perform. I remember thinking how he seemed to be limiting himself with the group he was with.
The next few years passed an indeed, Justin Timberlake decided to go solo. I was at the store purchasing his debut album as soon as I heard it was out and I didn’t care if I hadn’t heard any of the songs from his album because I had a hunch that it was going to be filled with tunes that would be amazing.
I was right and his first album took him from pop to r&b as far as I was concerned. He decided to team up with Timbaland, who is known for his awesome beats and worked with Missy Elliott. His most popular song from his debut album (Justified) was a song titled ‘Cry Me A River’. Even though there were quite a few more songs that I thought were better, it didn’t keep me from turning up the radio when ‘Cry Me A River’ was playing.
His second solo album, ‘FutureSex/LoveSound’ didn’t have me hooked nearly as quickly as his debut album, but I listened to it until I found myself humming certain songs throughout the day. It has been great watching him transform from a boy to a man.
Justin Timberlake’s Newest Album
In Justin Timberlake’s newest album, he managed to completely transform AGAIN, presenting himself (appearance wise) as a gentleman. Complete with suit, tie and a lot of hair product. I have to say that this transformation is a welcome change for me and I’m looking forward to his future albums.
