B140 or B150 – Which is Best for You?

The following brief article will quickly highlight the differences (and similarities) between the two popular yet somewhat similar beverage brewing systems from Keurig — the B140 Vs B150 — so you can get a clear overview and understanding as to what each machine has to offer you and from that you will be able to easily identify whether the B140 or B150 is right for you.

Keurig B140 Overview

Described as a commercial brewing system, the B140 is capable of producing the ‘perfect’ coffee, tea, hot chocolate within just sixty seconds after you have hit the go button. It works on the basis offering you an option of three distinct cup sizes (being 6 oz, 8 oz and 10 oz) and is capable of storing 48 oz of water in its reservoir. Additional features include: the energy saving mode (where by it automatically turns off after 120 minutes of inactive use) and has a drip tray to help you cater with travel mugs.

Dimensions: 13.3 by 11.4 by 9.5 inches | Weight: 14 lbs | Power: 1,400 Watts | Rating: 90%

Note: intended just for commercial usage.

Keurig B150 Overview

Again, like the B140, the B150 is capable of producing an array of hot beverages within just a minute but does host a range of additional & improved features. For instance, it offers you a choice of five cup sizes (4 oz, 6 oz, 8 oz, 10 oz and 12 oz) instead of three and its water reservoir is almost double in size, capable of storing up to 90 oz. Moreover, it has a direct water line plumbing option, touch screen interface (allowing you to select the brew temp etc.) as well as installed ‘quiet brew technology’. It again, offers the standard features which the B140 did as well like the energy saving mode, drip tray etc. but also comes with an internal hot water tank if needed for transport or storage use.

Dimensions: 13.9 by 14 by 10.4 inches | Weight: 18 lbs | Power: 1,400 Watts | Rating: 86%

Note: intended just for commercial & domestic usage.

The Difference Between the B140 and B150

Clearly, there are a few distinct differences between the two coffee makers — the B150 is the larger model (so you need to take into account the counter space available) and offers an additional two coffee mug, cup size options, a far greater water reservoir, a more appealing user interface and brews quieter — moreover it can also be used at home. This is however, reflected in the price, with the B150 being a fair bit more expensive than the B140 by around $50 to $70 (depending on the retailer).

Which Brewing System Should You Buy the B140 or B150?

If you are buying one for your office, which model you get I’d say depends on how many people there are working there, more than three staff and I’d advise you to get the B150 (less than that and you are fine with the B140). This being said, it all comes down to a matter of preference, if you (or one of your co-workers) are a bit fussy with when it comes to beverages e.g. you/they like the larger mug of coffee at a particular temperature then the B150 is the way to go due to the additional aspects integrated. Also, if you are wanting either coffee machine for home use then I’d highly recommend you go for the B150 (as this is what Keurig deem the most appropriate) .

Remember, that Keurig offer you a 30 day money back guarantee scheme if you aren’t happy with either of the brewing systems.
