National Science Olympiad or NSO is being held in India since last 18 years which is being conducted by Science Olympiad Foundation or SOF. Science Olympiad Foundation is located in Delhi and is an educational foundation and a non-profit organization. It promotes Science, Introductory, Mathematics and English in India and other places like Singapore, Oman, Qatar, Nepal, Bahrain, Sri Lanka, U.A.E. and Durban.
Every year four Olympiads are organized at the above enlisted places namely: National Cyber Olympiad (NCO), the National Science Olympiad (NSO), the International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO) and the International English Olympiad (IEO).
National Science Olympiad is considered as one of the most renowned science Olympiad in Asia. NSO is held in two stages: National and International. Students from Class 1 to Class 12 are eligible to participate. Students have to participate via their respective schools and minimum 10 students need to register from each school. As per the reports during the previous year around 31500 schools from more than 1400 cities registered. Thereby millions of students appeared for the four Olympiad exams. The Olympiads were supposed to be conducted in 19 countries across the world.
Reward
- Each winner will be entitled to one award for an exam.
- All students scoring 100% marks in the 2nd level exams of NSO will win special awards consisting of Gifts worth Rs.1000/ and Merit Certificates.

Reward at School Level
- 600000 Medals to school Toppers:
- If 10 or more students from a class write the exam then the Top 3 Rank Holders are offered Gold, silver and bronze medals.
- If 5 to 9 students from a class write the exam then the Top Rank Holder is offered Gold medal.
- Each student who has participated in any of the SOF Olympiad is given a Student Performance Report (SPR). Which in detail consists of the analysis that how the 1st level of the Olympiad was attempted by the student.
- Certificate of participation to each student
- Merit Certificate to 2nd level participants
- Top 25 rank holders from each class & each Olympiad exam will be awarded Gold Medals of Excellence & Merit Certificates of Excellence. This will be applicable for winners from 20 Zones/States for performance in the 1st level Olympiads in NSO
