It is most peoples desire to have flawless skin, but it is not always like that. You can have beautiful skin one day and the next it is covered in blemishes and dark spots.
The skin is the largest organ of the body and requires nourishing care in order for it to be at its optimal condition. The skin is the bodies first line of defense where it shed millions of cells in order to counteract temperature extremes, infections, dehydration and such likes. It can also detoxify the body of harmful substance tying to penetrate the system and cause disastrous effects.
One of the most problematic of skin issue is getting rid of dark skin or dark spots otherwise known as age spots or liver spots. The dark skin is known a malasma or cholamas which are hyper pigmentation. Malasma is more often seen in darker skin individuals and women seem to suffer more froms. Cholmas is seen mainly in pregnant women and is called the pregnancy mask. This usually fades after pregnancy.
There are many other reasons that may cause the skin to darken such as Rosacea a skin condition that is an inflammation characterized by reddening and irritation and can also be found on the arms and legs. Another reason for skin darkening is sun exposure. It has been preached over and over about the effects of the suns ultra violet rays and there are still individuals not protecting their skin from the ravages of the rays.
They are medications that could also cause darkening of the skin such as blood pressure medications, ianti seizure and steroid meds. It is best to see a dermatologist to rule out any serious health issues before addressing the dark spots.
There several ways of combating dark spots naturally right from the kitchen cupboard.
The most effect is using two tablespoon plain Greek yogurt and one teaspoon honey and apply all over face, let it remain for 20 minutes and rinse thoroughly.
Blend one tomato and the juice of one lemon, apply to face and let sit for 15 minutes and rinse.
This is a popular East Indian remedy for lightening dark skin. Take ½ tsp turmeric powder and mix with two tbsp. yogurt, apply to face and let completely dry, rinse properly with cool water.
Soak 6 almonds overnight, drain and crush to a smooth paste, add 1 tsp almond oil and 1 tsp lemon juice. App,ly toface and let sit for 20 mins, then rinse.
