Nutrition For Body And Mind

-

Most people see nutrition as something that is important to the body, so they try to take the recommended amount of vitamins and minerals. But nutrition is not only about the body, it’s about health, growth and mind. We are what we eat.

The truth is, it’s hard to know what exactly we are eating. I just want to take a moment and mention that most people use supplements when they want to increase the amount of vitamins they take in. A lot less people go to the real source of vitamins – fruits and vegetables.

But this is because we are used to eating processed food and because most of us is looking for a quick solution. Production of food increased substantially and now we have a large variety of foods available. But the food we eat is full of growth hormones and pesticide. Even if you want to eat healthy, natural foods, that would be hard to accomplish.

Unhealthy additives are a big concern, this is something you should talk about with a nutritional therapist. It’s something you should start with. The main concern is that the majority of people don’t eat healthy foods at all. This is something you really need to think about and discuss with a nutritionist.

We all know that most folks eat too much, so I won’t go into details about how overweight most of us are. What you should know is that we get hungry for reasons that are not connected to our body and its needs. We get hungry because we choose to eat food that causes hunger and cravings. Or because we are nervous, bored or emotionally distressed. Comfort food is what’s destroying your health.

I’m not saying pesticide residues and unhealthy hormones are not a problem, they are. However, our bigger problem is that we consume too much soda and candy. Nutrition for body and mind is what can solve our problems. The connection between the brain and nutrition is there, and that’s been already proven.

Our brain needs the right nutrition in order to function properly. If you drink too much coffee, you can’t sleep. If you don’t drink enough coffee, you feel sluggish. And THAT is the problem. You shouldn’t depend on something like this. The same goes for your children – it’s understandable that they need energy, but does it have to go with a bunch of sugar that will keep them up and running all day?

As you can see, there are many things that are not right and this is exactly why we need to change the way we think and eat. Consult a nutritional therapist to figure out what your goals are and how to reach them.
