About The Movie: Safe Haven is an adaptation of the novel of the same title by best-selling romance novelist Nicholas Sparks. The adapted screenplay was written by Dana Stevens and Gage Lansky. The film was directed by Lasse Hallstrom.
The film is about a mysterious young woman moving into a small American town in North Carolina. The close-knit community is wary about her as she just came out of nowhere. Everybody starts questioning her past. Although she is determined not to form personal ties with anybody from the community, she starts to let her guard down and begins to fall in love with a man from her new home. All the while she still struggles with the dark past that never lets up in haunting her.
