Safety Guide to Your First Botox Treatment in New Jersey

So you are thinking of trying botox to erase those unwanted wrinkles on your forehead and around the eyes? Clinics offering Botox in New Jersey could be the answer to your prayers. Botox is a more concentrated form of botulinum toxin A and despite its name, there’s no toxicity risk if used properly. It’s bad rep could be attributed to the fact that it is related to botulism, which is a type of food poisoning that can prove to be fatal if not treated immediately.

Is it safe?

Botox works by blocking the nerves that allows your muscles to contract. Botox enables your wrinkles to soften and “flatten.”

Since April 2002, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have already given approval for botox as a cosmetic use. The US FDA regularly monitors its use and will amend its advisory if it finds any hint of danger in the application of botox in New Jersey. So unless the FDA says otherwise, it’s safe to assume that botox to erase wrinkles and crow’s feet won’t have any ill-effects to your skin. Of course, the presumption here is that the patient had botox with a legitimate and licensed company.

Side effects

But you can’t talk about safety without warning patients about the side effects of having botox in New Jersey. First, you will notice a brushing surrounding the injected area but don’t worry this is only temporary and should disappear in days. In rare occasions, patients complained of headaches but again they should disappear in two days at the most. And still some report of their eyelids drooping. The cosmetic doctors should be able to advise you to refrain from constantly touching the injected area or stay lying down for four hours. Also, refrain from taking any anti-inflammatory pill or pain-relievers like aspirin or ibuprofen as it will perpetrate bruising around the treated area.

How about pregnant women?

Botox in New Jersey is even safe for pregnant women or those who are breastfeeding. But it’s always better to talk to your doctor to be certain, particularly if you have prior allergies.
