This article is for somebody looking to buy a Windows based tablet PC. The Samsung ATIV Smart PC 500T is a wonderful device. The PC is very lightweight. The screen is 11.6 which is bigger than some of the competition. I have been using mine for a week now and have not had any troubles with it. The screen is very clear. i have been watching movies on it over the internet and the picture quality is great. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of unnecessary programs preloaded onto it. The battery lasts about 2 days with somewhat regular internet browsing. The stylist it comes with feels small to me, so I plan on getting a bigger one, but it works great and fits inside the PC. I went with this version of windows due to the fact that I heard with the RT version, you have to install programs through the windows store. That might not be an issue for some, but for me, I like the ease of installing programs with an external hard drive. I have yet to try to connect it to a network and share between multiple PCs, or connect it to a printer, so I will have to update once I do so.
I have not purchased any accessories for it, but I plan to. My next purchase for it is going to be a protective screen cover. I also plan to purchase a protective case for it that serves as a stand as well. A bluetooth keyboard will also be very nice for typing. The keyboard that is onscreen is very nice, but for long documents a bluetooth keyboard would be a lot better. I do not see myself buying a mouse for it, but as mentioned earlier, a better stylist would be great.
I purchased mine through Amazon and it came pretty quickly. The price they had at the time was also cheaper with free shipping, a win win situation!
In conclusion I highly recommend this PC to anybody that is in the market for a PC. The nice screen size and picture quality, battery life, and lightweight, make it great to travel with. (which I definitely plan on doing.)
