Company History
Originally under the name Three Ninety-Nine Car Rentals in 1963, Advantage Car Rental is based in San Antonio, TX. Its first clients were government officers and military personnel. It has expanded its services within 20 years, adding feeder and leisure services like airports to its existing offers. It got the name Advantage Rent a Car in 1985. In the 1990s, the business expanded, and then got worldwide recognition by 2001. When inflation hit, Advantage was not an exemption. In December 2008, it declared bankruptcy. The Hertz Corporation took over by buying the companys assets for $33 million. It now offers car rental services to over 30 countries and over 25 cities in the United States. These cities include Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Orlando, Phoenix, Salt Lake City and Denver.
Addition Equipments/ Features
Extra features are available upon request for a minimal rate to provide a more convenient travel to its customers. Child Seats, which are mandated by all the states in the country, are offered upon rental. For turn-by-turn driving direction, GPS Navigation with 4 inch LCD display is also available in select locations. Reservations have to be made up to 48 hours before desired rental date to ensure the availability of the service. Vehicles featuring hand control for physically challenged drivers are also for free. These are fixed to the breaks and gas so even without using his feet, a physically challenged person can still drive. Other features are protection for loss or damage, premium insurance services, and a 24 hour Emergency Roadside Rescue Service. It is very rare that your rental car breaks down because each advantage car rental is complete with maintenance. In the event that it does happen, you get the peace of mind that someone will come to you.
Advantage A-PASS Online Check-in
This is an online application process that is done prior to visiting an Advantage location. Input your Reservation Confirmation Number and Last Name, driver’s license code and birth date in the online form. When you get to the Advantage location of your choice, you dont have to provide the same information you provided online. By finishing the online application earlier and printing the A-PASS Confirmation, you just dont save time in the in-location application process; you can also get 5% slashed off on daily and weekend rates. Present the A-PASS Confirmation to any US location. Its an excellent way of cutting down the rental costs for something else to make your vacation more pleasurable. Fees and optional charges, taxes, tax reimbursement, age differential charges, are not included. This promo is until August 31st, 2011 only.
Payment Methods
Upon rental, the customer must present a valid credit card and driver license card both in his name. Accepted credit cards are Visa, Mastercard, Diners Club, JCB Discover, Carte Blanche, American Express and Optima Amex. Debit cards should have a Discover, Mastercard, Visa logo on it. The card should have a balance of the approximate charge of the rental plus $200. Prepaid gift cards and Cash can be used for payment upon return.
