Spironolactone for acne treatment

Initially used for women with excessive hair growth problems, spironolactone, also known as aldactone, is an effective hormnal acne treatment. Spironolactone for acne has become well known in recent years because it does work to get rid of adult acne.

Another thing which you need to consider is the possible side-effects, especially if you plan on taking it for longer periods of time.

Most people who have taken spironolactone have noticed an improvement of their condition after just two months. Some women with severe hormonal imbalances may need to take it for longer periods of time.

Since acne can be caused by a hormonal imbalance in your body, it is wise to look for ways on which you can rebalance it without the need of medication. For example, there are foods which can be helpfull to restore the oestrogen levels in your body, particularly soya milk. Also, having the right amount of vitamins and inerals in the body makes more difficult to develop hormanal imbalance and the need for spironolactone acne treatment.
