Tea Tree Oil Steam Facial

Why would anyone want to do a tea tree oil steam facial? For one thing a few drops of tea tree oil can’t hurt and if you have problems with acne, blackheads, pimples or other type of skin condition it can certainly be beneficial. The properties of tea tree oil are antiseptic, anti-fungal and antibacterial, all of which are most helpful when deep cleansing the face.

If you are already doing steam facials at home adding tea tree oil into the mix is simple enough all you do is add a few drops into the water and tea tree oil does the rest. If you’re wondering about the smell of tea tree oil some describe it as medicinal or menthol and can be unpleasant to some. For me, the benefits outweigh the odor and the smell doesn’t last long anyway. After all, it’s only 20 minutes or less

Doing a steam facial at home is easy these days with all the new mini facial home steamers on the market. Many of them come with an aromatherapy compartment making it simple to add tea tree oil or any other essential oil. A portable mini facial steamer with aromatherapy compartment will cost you $50-$75 depending on accessories and brand. You can check out reviews and compare prices online at Amazon and other trusted sites.

Keep in mind that one facial in the salon will cost you this much or more. Why not do hundreds at home for the same price? Granted, it’s not as much fun doing facials at home as a day out with the girls at the spa, but it’s wise to be economical these days.

Tea tree oil also has many other uses, so when you buy a bottle don’t worry, you will use it for something even if you decide that tea tree steam facials aren’t your cup of tea. No pun intended. Tea tree oil is effective against dandruff just put a few drops in the shampoo. It’s also effective against athlete’s foot and nail fungus as it is anti-fungal. If you like the idea of going green with your clean then tea tree oil can do that too, since it is a natural disinfectant.

There is a long list of uses for tea tree oil, these are but a few, but you can already see that it is well worth whatever you spend for it. Tea tree oil will stay potent for a long time as long as it is stored in a dark cool place in a dark glass bottle.

For those who already have a facial steamer at home tea tree oil is all you need to do your first tea tree steam facial. A bottle of tea tree oil will run anywhere from $5 to $15 and can be found in health food stores as well as online.
