My husband and I got married six months ago. Since were both history nerds, we decided to spend our honeymoon in Egypt. We were already planning our wedding and didnt want to spend too much effort on trip planning, we decided to research some tour packages in Egypt that would handle everything for us. We came across the Travel2Egypt.org website and were interested in some of their Egypt holiday packages. After corresponding with their helpful staff, we opted for the 9-day/8-night Wonders of Egypt tour package.
We flew into the Luxor International Airport in the morning, and were picked up by the staff of Travel2Egypt.org. This helpful gentleman drove us to the dock, where we boarded the Sonesta Nile Goddess Cruise. After a very filling lunch, we were off to visit some of the most beautiful temples in the world. Despite the time zone difference, we didnt feel the jet lag because we were both very excited to see some ancient Egyptian temple with our own eyes. We visited the Temple of Karnak and the Luxor Temple, which were huge. No words can do them justice.
The next day, we visited the Valley of the Kings, a royal burial site that we have read about in history books. It was very massive and being at the place where so many Pharaohs, including King Tut, were buried just left us speechless. One of my favourite sites was the Hatshepsut Temple. I loved the stories about Hatshepsut and how her stepson tried to wipe her off of ancient Egyptian history.
During our tour, we travelled from Luxor to Alexandria, with stops at Esna, Aswan, Cairo in between. We visited all the major sites of Egypt. Our tour guides were great and spoke good English. They were very knowledgeable and our questions were answered to our satisfaction. Daily tours to the ancient sites were very well organized, and the buses always arrived at our hotels on time. We were provided free bottled water on the bus. This is very important because the weather in Egypt could be really hot in the afternoon. The cruise ship was exceptional, and all staff aboard was so helpful. The meals were served in different styles daily, and we loved all of them.
This tour was certainly value for money, and we highly recommend it for anyone who loves ancient history. Thanks Travel2Egypt.org for making our honeymoon an unforgettable one!
