Top 5 Agriculture Equipment Manufacturers

Who Will Make The List?

Do you remember the good old days when farming was all about my manual labor and physical force? Most people alive today will not be able to recall what agricultural equipment were before the industrial revolution. Modern machinery has made it easier for a lot of people to make money and for food to be easily available. That is why it is almost impossible to experience starvation in most Western countries. This progress is due to the top five agriculture equipment manufacturers in the world.

Before the days of combine harvesters, it was always a joyful event but a painstaking work during the harvest season. In those days, it literally took tens or hundreds of people to get the work done. Nowadays, all you need is a single person to seat in a tractor or in other advanced agricultural machine to get the job done. The ironic thing is that with less manpower you get faster results. What are the top five agriculture equipment manufacturers?

If you live in the United States, the brand John Deere will be very familiar to you. That is because John Deere has been in the business of agriculture machinery for such a long time. To be precise, it started in the 1800s. With such a long history of agricultural equipment, John Deere is one of the leading manufacturers of farming equipment in the world. They are number 1, not 5 or 10, on anyone’s list of the top companies.

Acgo is another major player in the world of farming equipment. They are also based in the US but have branches all over the world. The Acgo name has been around for decades and it is part of the top five agricultural equipment manufacturers. For those who might not have heard about this brand, that is because the name Acgo is used as a mother or an umbrella brand for smaller companies within the same group. It is a consortium of smaller companies.

If you move over to Europe, you have Claas which is a company based in Germany. If you live in the US you might not have heard of this agricultural equipment manufacturer. That doesn’t mean it is a new company because they have been around since the early 1900s. Their equipment is sold with a different name in the US.

Another European brand of farm equipment manufacturer is Kverneland. The company has been in business since the 1800s and is very popular in Norway. This brand is not as common as the others mentioned above but it is also an important player in farming equipment manufacturing.

Massey Ferguson is a Canadian-based farming equipment manufacturer that has been in the business since the early 50s. The company is still going strong but now operates under the Acgo group of companies.

There are other smaller companies selling good agricultural equipment to farming businesses as well as to the general public. The list above is not representing the best companies out there. Nevertheless, the bigger companies became major players because they have a good history of making top-notch agricultural equipment.
