See Why I think the Winner is the Vitamix 5200.
Ok… So What Does the Vitamix 5200 & Vitamix 6300 Share in Common
- They Have the Same Design & Body – with regards to their structure they are pretty much identical, both weigh in at around 10 lbs & have dimensions of 20.5 x 17 x 9 inches. The only aspect that really gives them both a way is that one has 5200 written across it and the other 6300.
- The Motors Installed Are Identical – they both also have the same commercial powered, high performance motors installed that offers you a variable speed between 11 mph to up to 240 mph. It also has ‘feedback’ system that will automatically adjust to your load to provide a ‘consistent power regardless of load’.
- The Same Blades & Canisters – you get the 64 oz wide set wet canister as well as the 32 oz dry canister (for beans, wheats etc.) as well as the stainless steel wet & dry blades that are said of being capable of delivering you with ‘three times the nutritional content’.

What are the Differences Between the Vitamix 5200 and Vitamix 6300?
The differences are actually quite subtle, but the main variation is to do with the pre-set programs that are integrated into the 6300 whereby you have different modes & time settings allocated for varying types of food you are wanting to make e.g. hot soups, frozen deserts, smoothies etc. whereas with the Vitamix 5200, everything is manually done & you have to stand -by it & time it yourself to see when it’s done blending.
This then comes with the differing dial mechanism you see on the front of the Vitamix 5200 & Vitamix 6300 — the former is completely manual to control the speed of the blender whereas with the Vitamix 6300 it adjusts to the type of food you want making. The pre-sets however definitely aren’t perfect with the 6300, you will often find that you have to switch back to manual mode to give it some extra blending — so really why do you need them?
You will also see that the vitamix 6300 also comes with an extra safety feature of a master kill switch (with an LED light) that the Vitamix 5200 doesn’t.
Which is Better Vitamix 5200 or 6300?
Now, despite pretty much every aspect being the same, apart from the pre-set programs. The 5200 for many just seems to edge it over the 6300 for some reason. I believe it can blend faster and is just more effectient, but there is a general consensus that it just produces a smoother smoothie and better final product than the 6300. This is despite it being $150 cheaper as well!
So overall, I definitely recommend you go with the Vitamix 5200 as not only is it the better performer but it’s a fair bit cheaper as well. But, whichever model you go for, you know you are investing in an awesome appliance that will make a huge difference to your ‘health’, ‘diet’ and can save you a fair bit of cash in the grocery department too. But do let me know which you go for though, the Vitamix 5200 or 6300 & why (in the comments below)?
