Which is Better? Answer: Weslo Cadence R 5.2 (see why below)
Weslo Cadence R 5.2 Treadmill Review
The R 5.2 comes in fairly cheaply (after being reduced) at just under $300 and is engineered to offer you a vigorous cardio workout to help you get fit and lose weight. It comes with six workout programs and adjustable incline two-level (for added resistance) as well as comfort cell cushioning to relieve stress on your joints & back whilst running.
It utilizes a fairly powerful 2.25 hp motor that produces a silent ‘smooth, consistent operation‘ making it ideal for either a light gentle jog or an intense sprint. The solid treadmill deck measures 16′ by 51’ (being able to accommodate a max user weight of 250 lbs) and can be folded back vertically to help you save on space & comes with wheels attached to so it can be transported off in to storage (to free up room in your house).
You will also see from the image above, that it is integrated with an LCD console that readouts all the necessary fitness diagnostics whilst your working out e.g. calories burned, speed, distance etc and comes with a graphical matrix display — graphing all your results. In all, a very decent treadmill, available at a very decent price.

Weslo Cadence G 5.9 Treadmill Review
As you will soon see the G 5.9 treadmill is actually very similar to the R 5.2, because this model is the predecessor i.e the R 5.2 is the upgrade of this treadmill (and is also similarly priced at the $300 mark).
It also comes with six training workout programs and adjustable on a two position incline (up to 6%) along with cushioning to prevent damage to your joints etc. with comfort cell. Again, it is installed with a 2.25 HP motor (allowing a speed range between 1 and 10 mph) but has a slightly smaller tread belt at 16′ by 50′ (also being able to support 250 lbs).
The G 5.9 is also installed with the thumb heart rate monitor sensor that is placed on one of the handles (see image above) and can be tracked through the LCD screen that also displays a number of other fitness readouts e.g. time, calories burned etc. And like the R 5.2 it can fold up. So in all they are very, very similar treadmills.

What’s the Difference Between the R 5.2 and G 5.9?
As you can see both treadmills are very similar (which is expected given the R 5.2 is just a simple revamp of the G 5.9) but there are some subtle differences. Firstly, the running belt is slightly bigger with the R 5.2 and is also slightly more compact (particularly handy for those who are very tight on space). Moreover, the LCD console is more sophisticated given its matrix reading capability.
Which Weslo Cadence Treadmill Should You Buy the R5.2 or G5.9?
Given, they are available at roughly the same price of about $300, I would definitely go with the R 5.2 given all the components & parts have been updated etc. This being said, you might be able to find the G 5.9 for a lot cheaper. But which compact cheap treadmill will you buy the Weslo Cadence R 5.2 or G 5.9?
