Whitney Houston’s Cause of Death

Whitney Houston was found dead in her Beverly Hills hotel bathtub on 3:55 Saturday February 11, 2012. She was 48 years old. The cause of death is not immediately known, however, the legendary singer and actress had a long history of drug and alcohol abuse that may have resulted in suicide or accidental drowning.

Paramedics arrived at the Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills on Saturday afternoon where they found Whitney Houston unresponsive. They attempted to revive the singer, but were unable to resuscitate her. Several prescription drugs were found in the room, but it is not known whether Whitney Houston drowned or drugs were involved in her death.

There was a pre Grammy party prior to the death of Whitney Houston where Whitney was seen “not looking good.” Whitney had a movie coming out this summer entitled “Sparkle,” and it was thought she might be making a comeback. Whitney’s daughter, Bobbi Kristini, 19, arrived at the scene as police were conducting their investigation and was furious she was not allowed to see her mother. She seemed inconsolable to those who viewed her displays of emotion in response to her mother’s death.

Stars who had attended the pre Grammy party were on the scene as Whitney’s body was taken out on a stretcher to the waiting ambulance. Watchers stood stunned as the heartbreaking scene unfolded before them. No-one indicated whether they knew the Whitney Houston’s cause of death.

Whitney Houston is known for hits such as You Gave Me Good Love, Greatest Love of All and the mega hit I Will Always Love You from the movie The Bodyguard. She was an incredible musical talent with a vocal range that allowed her to sing a variety of musical styles and propelled her to stardom in the early 1980’s. She showed off her acting chops in several movies including The Bodyguard and Waiting to Exhale. She set the standard for many singers who followed her such as Beyonce and Jennifer Hudson, and in her early years acted as a role model for future female vocalists. Whitney Houston’s cause of death is under investigation, but is not being treated as suspicious.
